I have been bringing my vehicle in for at least the last two or three months and I'm still having the same problem. They are constantly telling me it's the same issue. It may stay at the facility for a couple days or up to a little over a week. I get it back and drive it for some days, and it's back to the problem. The representative Chris, very helpful, very understanding, considerate, just a great person overall. He schedules me as soon as I call and gives me a date to get it in and keeps me updated on whatever is going on. With, the issue going on, I have ask if several things have been check to rule out the problem. I'm told its not that, its this. Well I'm not a mechanic but have a couple in my circle and they ask the same questions I have. So, the problem is the temperature gauge goes to the hot setting when sitting at traffic lights, in the drive thru window, or when I'm in the car rider lane dropping off my child. With or without the air conditioning being on. My question has been since the water pump has been installed, has thermostat been change, is the reservoir box needing to be replace, and is it a sensor, is it the fan. I get the same answer about air in the system and had to be purge out. Well, the air must be getting back in because this weekend 9-5&9-6 it continues to run hot. I know the mechanics are doing what comes on the machine, but even I know from a class I took, that when you replace a water pump, you should go ahead and replace the thermostat also. I'm in no way form or fashion blaming the mechanics, (even though, I did notice a clamp broken under hood when I got back and no one has said anything about it). I express my concerns to Chris and he said, they are doing what comes up on the computer. It's very aggravating, because I have to keep canceling my out town trip because my car is not going to be sufficient enough to drive, and I refuse to have to get a rental, when I have a drivable car. I am going to reach out to the service department again to let them know, hey it's going to the hot side again, on Thursday 9/11. I just need and want my car fix and I and the service department probably are both sick of that car.
