The four trim levels of the Jetta are the S base level, SE, SEL, and GLI. At the base level, you get a great suite of features unavailable on many competing compact cars. Safety and Performance

At the base level with its 1.4L 4-cylinder engine, the Jetta gives you 150 horsepower, 184 lb-ft of torque, and an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency of 32 combined MPG. A turbocharged 1.8L engine kicks it up to 170 horsepower and EPA-estimated fuel economy of 29 combined MPG. Finally, the 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine gives you 210 horsepower, 207 lb-ft in torque, and an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 27 combined MPG.

Safety-wise, the Jetta delivers a fine suite of features as described above. It scored five stars in federal government testing, and got a top rating of Good from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in overall safety. These top scores make the Jetta a great choice for safe driving.
